biometrics done, you should wait at least 2 weeks before you check for the status of your aadhar card.
There are actually two ways to check the status of your aadhar card. One is by SMS and other is checking online. Checking online is a better way, as your are already online reading this post. The other way is by SMS, you actually don't need it if you already have net but you can use it for checking someone else aadhaar card status online when you are not connected to internet.
To check your AADHAAR card ( आधार कार्ड ) status check by phone, send an SMS as "UID STATUS <14 digit enrolment number>" (e.g. UID STATUS 12345678901234) to 51969. If your AADHAAR card number is generated and the SMS is sent from the registered mobile phone number that you used to tell to the enrolment officer while giving your bio-metrics then you will receive the AADHAAR card number, otherwise only the current AADHAR card status will be communicated.

Many people try to check aadhar card status by name but there is no way to get it by your name or any person name as there are lot of people with same name and this can create a lot of mess. www.uidai.gov.in check aadhar card.
